Turkish, Iranian FMs Discuss Gaza Developments

TEHRAN -- Iran’s foreign minister says the operation launched by Palestinian resistance groups against Israel is an outcome of the Zionist regime’s incessant crimes against the people of Palestine.
In a phone conversation, Hussein Amir-Abdollahian told with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan that “the Palestinian resistance’s operation is a spontaneous move and the result of the Zionist regime’s incessant crimes against Palestine.”
He urged all Muslim countries “to remain united in support of the holy occupied city of Al-Quds, as well as the oppressed and resistant Palestinian nation.”
The two foreign ministers also discussed the latest situation in the occupied Palestine, stressing that the rights of Palestinians must be respected.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said Saturday that Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was “a turning point and a new chapter” in the continuing resistance against the Zionist regime.
A spokesman for Hamas, Ghazi
Hamad, told the BBC that the resistance movement had received support from its ally Iran for its surprise attacks on Israel. Others have helped too, he told the broadcaster without naming them.
Hamad said that the operation came in response to attacks by Zionist settlers in the West Bank. “Every day they build settlements, seize our lands, kill our people, and enter our cities, and through mediators, Egyptians, Qataris or the United Nations, we told them to stop, but they did not listen to anyone,” he said. Iran has publicly praised the attacks.
